Christmas Cards I'm working on

 Good Morning and welcome back,

As you can see I was busy this week between my SAS samples and now my personal Christmas cards that I will be sending out to family and friends. These are completely cased from Donna At www.butternutsagedesigns.blogspot.com. I loved them so much, they are so beautiful and  fairly easy to mass produce. Both are done with the Lovely As A Tree stamp set from SU. The 1rst one is done with Basic Black, Whisper White and smoky Slate card stock. Smoky Slate, stazon black and White Craft inks, SU sponges and the signo gel pen from SU. The sentiment is from a retired set called Christmas Greetings.

The next one is done with the same stamp sets  same ink colors and the gel pen but I used Crumb Cake and Whisper White card stock instead of the black and the smoky slate.
I always said it is never too early to start making your Christmas cards, so I've started, now I will be making some of the gifts too, I better get cracking at those,we're already in October and Christmas is only a couple of months away. Yikes!
Thanks for stopping by enjoy the rest of your day. Til next time.

Perfect Blend meets Starburst

 Welcome back friends,

Hope your week is going well. Here it is October. I got some time to play with a new technique last week. This is the starburst technique. Little difficult in the beginning but once I got it I couldn't stop. I really got on a roll. What I like about this technique is gives me a chance to use DSP, I'm not much of a scrap booker, not yet anyway, would love to do more and get better at it. At least this way I could use up the DSP I had because some of it is retired. The first three are all done in the same color scheme using the Mocha Morning DSP from SU. which is retired. The last two I wanted a more masculine feel so I used the DSP called Well Worn which is also retired. That's what I was up to last week, when I couldn't use my voice much because of the laringitis thing, hope you enjoy them. Thanks for stopping by. have a wonderful day. Til next time.
Happy Stamping!

Catalogs Recycled

Well hello everyone,
welcome back. I have two days off and and seeing I can't talk to much due to this laryngitis thing that I seem to have I decided to make a few things. By the way my boys and my husband think this is pretty terrific lol. I can squeak a few words out here and there.
Any ways I came across this in Stampin' Connection how to use your recycled catalogs. This is pretty good. I made three bags but it took me 5 times to make the first one right. What do you think pretty cute huh?
I have to thank Maria Fennelly for her wonderful tutorial on how to do this, you can find her video at http://www.stampinconnection.com/video/upcycle-your-old-catalogs.  I now have three bags that are ready to go for Christmas gifts, how cool is that? All I need to do now is create some cute little gift tags to match, but that's for another day.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day , til next time.

Coffee Time

 Welcome back friends,

Fall is now in the air. I believe yesterday was the first day of Fall. Air is crisp, football season is well upon us, the leaves are just beginning to turn colors. I love early Fall.
I finally got some time and inspiration to play with this set from SU.  I loved this set and bought it a while back and just inked it up for the first time last week. Here are the cards I made using this set. I admit I cased them all and changed a little bit because I didn't have the same ribbon or designer series paper, that I cased from.
The first card is done using Calypso Coral card stock and crumb cake card stock. The circles were done with a real coffee mug bottom with baked brown sugar and spritzed some water over it . I loved that idea that came from a couple of people on SC. I used the Perfect Blend stamp set and the very first paper pumpkin stamp set, washi Tape from  Epic Day Journal kit and Epic Day DSP. A button from SU and the early espresso Baker's Twine.
The second card I used Crisp Cantaloupe, Early Espresso and Tea Party DSP (retired). The Chalk Talk thinlits embossing folders Polka Dot and Clouds. Victorian Lace and Early Espresso taffeta ribbon and flower trim from SU.
The last card I used Epic Day DSP which I'm trying to use up, love the colors in that stack, Pool Party and Calypso Coral. Birtday Sketches stamp set, and bitty Banner thinlts and Pool Party Ribbon.
That's it for now I need to get ready for work, boy that hour went by fast. Thanks for visiting. Enjoy the rest of the day, Come back again to see more creations. Til next time.
Happy Stamping!

Come One Come all

Come one come all welcome back
I got some time to craft today. Come celebrate with us at my next stamping class. It's every thing Fall from Halloween, colored leaves and even a technique to go with the season. It's called Ghosting. Of coarse this technique can be used any time of the year, but what better time than Halloween to learn it. It's pretty simple.

These are the projects I worked on today while I had a day off. The two cards used the ghosting technique. The muslin bag used a few new products such as the Chalk Talk framelit, black glitter and the spritzing tool which as you can see I  haven't quite got the hang of that yet. I guess I was a little heavy handed in spots. It's going to take some practice. It still turned out o.k though and of coarse I haven't filled the bag with goodies yet either. I do like these little muslin bags from SU.

The next project on the right is a hand stamped towel. I used the French Foliage stamp set and acrylic paints from a local craft store.  The next thing I used was SU 's chevron ribbon in Pumpkin Pie for more color.

The card below used the Ghosting technique again, this time, using the French Foliage stamp set creating a Fall card, good for the season or Thanksgiving just change the sentiment. I used Birthday because I can always use a Birthday card for someone, they are the cards I use and need the most.

Materials used for the projects

Muslin Bag

Stamps: Wicked Cool
Inks: basic Black, Pumpkin Pie.
Card stock: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Vintage Trinkets, Black Glitter, Versa Mark pad, black Gingham ribbon ( retired) Heat and Stick powder.
Tools: Big shot machine, Heat tool, Chalk Talk framelits.

Happy Halloween Card

Stamps: Wicked Cool, Out On A Limb, Teeny Tiny Wishes.
Inks: Stazon Black, Versa Mark, Smokey Slate (new In color).
Card stock: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Summer Starfruit.
Accessories: 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Black Glitter, Stampin Write Markers in Cajun Craze and Summer Starfruit.
Tools: Heat Tool, paper snips, Brayer.

Towel

Stamps: French Foliage
Inks: none Used acrylic paints instead
Card stock : none
Accessories: Chevron Ribbon
Tools: Heat Tool and sponge daubers
To stamp on the towel
Step 1
Pour the acrylic paint into a container or a paint pallette
Step 2
Use the sponge dauber and dip it into the color of your choice, remove excess paint.
Step 3
Daub paint on stamp
Step 4
Stamp and heat with a heat tool.

Happy Birthday Card

Stamps: French Foliage, and Label this.
Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Versa Mark pad.
Card stock: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Whisper White.
Accessories: Rich razzleberry Ribbon Grosgrain. Labe Punch from the punch bundle from SU.
Tools: Paper Snips, Heat tool, Brayer.

Ghosting Technique
Step 1
Stamp the images of your choice with the Versa Mark Pad.
Step 2
Heat set the Versa mark for only a moment.
Step 3
Run your brayer over the stamping pad classic ink color of your choice
Step 4 cover your Whisper White card stock going vertical and horizontal til you get the civerage you desire
Step 5 Take a paper towel and rub off the color from the Versa mark image, this is how you get your ghosting effect.
Step 6 ( optional) stamp over your image but slightly off of it in another color, so that the Versa Mark shows through also.

A Trip to Gillette Stadium

Welcome back to my blog,

Sunday was the Christmas card Bonanza at my house and I wanted to say thank you to the ladies who attended. We had a nice time creating and talking with each other. It's always a pleasure to spend time with them.

On another note I went to my first Pats game Friday night at Gillette Stadium. I have never been and it was exciting and lots of fun. It is quite the stadium, it was a beautiful night and the Pats won.! Wohoo! I got to see Tom Brady play for the first part of the game. I would love to do it again some time. It was crowded considering it was a pre season game and we missed the kick off because we were tied up in the security line. It's ridiculous, no pocket books or bags at all, the security guard even took away a nerf football from a child because they weren't allowed to bring it in. I felt sad for the kid, he probably was hoping to get it autographed or something. Couldn't even take water bottles in. Just heads up if you are planning on going to Gillette Stadium this year.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day, til next time
Huggs!

Supplies for the card
Stamps: Christmas Lodge
Inks: Smokey Slate and Versa Mark

Card three and four of Christmas Card Bonanza

 Welcome back,

After a week of helping my older son get a new used car, I finally got some time for some card making. These two cards we will be making at the Christmas card bonanza that is coming up on Sun, There is still time to sign up if you would like to join us.
The first card I decided to use up some DSP that retired with this new catalog coming out. This is The Be of Good Cheer DSP. Also the Cherry Cobbler tulle that has retired with this catalog. I combined some of the retired supplies with a brand new one which is the Expression thinlits. I don't usually make these kinds of cards, it is on the busy side but I really wanted to use up the retired paper.
Supplies:
Stamps: none
Inks: none
Card stock: Cherry Cobbler and Gumball green, and Be Of Good Cheer DSP
Accessories: Big Shot, Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Tulle ,and the thinlit Expressions.
The next card I cased from Diane on stampin Connection, thanks Diane for your sharing!
Love the colors of this and the fact that it can be used as any occasion pretty much in the Winter as well as a Christmas card.
Supplies:
Stamps: Festive Flurry, and Greetings of the Season
Inks: Pool Party for the big snowflake and Versa mark
Card stock: Whisper White, Pool Party, new DSP paper called Winter Frost Specialty paper and the new Silver foil paper.
Accessories: Big Shot, Festive Flurry framelits, Northern Flurry Embossing folder Silver Embossing Powder, embossing Buddy, heat tool and rhinestones.
That's it for today trying to get my Christmas Cards started, it's never too early to make Christmas Cards especially when you do this kind of crafting. Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed. Have a great day. Til next time!

An Exciting week for the Family

     Welcome back friends,
It's been quite an exciting week here with the family.
About a week ago my younger son K.J and his girlfriend auditioned for American Idol at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. They went back and fourth for two days. The first day was for registration and the next day they auditioned. Got a quick glance at Ryan Seacrest.  Niether one of them made it but they said it was a great experience and they felt good about themselves. It was pure craziness.
Saturday my husband and I finally got to take a day at the beach. It was a beautiful day. We went to Ogunquit beach in Maine. We ate at a restaurant called Jackie's too and got to sit right by the water, it was soo relaxing. We walked the marginal Way which always seems to amaze me at the scenery along it. Sooo beautiful.
We ended this wonderful week with a play off game that my older son Paddy was playing in. It was for the championship. It was an exciting game with a pitcher's duel and a tied score of 1-1 up to the 7th inning and then they had to go into extra innings, talk about stressful, finally at the bottom of the nineth the Lunenburg Phillies which my son plays on, scored the winning run. Both teams worked very hard and both teams really wanted it they proved that, unfortunately only one team can win. Congrats to  the Lunenburg Phillies!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting. Have a great evening, til next time!

Card 2

Good morning and welcome back! I told you I have been busy. Here is card 2 of the Christmas  card Bonanza class that is coming up in August.
This card is a complete case. When I saw it I loved it. Here is the thing, I cased it from someone on Stampin Connection who pinned it from Pinterest. I checked out both sights and can not find out who the original creator was, so I apologize for not being able to give credit of this beautiful card to it's original creator. I will say this, thank you so much for sharing it with us. It's such a tranquil scene. It's pretty simple to re-create too.

Supplies and technique for this class
Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Greetings Of The Season
Inks:  Pool Party, Sahara Sand, VersaMark pad
Card Stock: Water Color Paper, Pool Party and Baked Brown Sugar
Accessories: Stamping Daubers,White embossing Powder, Dazzling Diamonda, 2 way glue Pen, Basic Pearl Jewels, dimensionals, Sticky Strip Tombow multipurpose Glue.

I stamped Lovely As A Tree with VersaMark, then added White embossing Powder and heated it with the Heat tool. Then I sponged the Sahara Sand onto the image using a dauber, then I added Dazzling Diamonds using the 2 way glue Pen. Then I sponge the Pool Party using a sponge dauber all around the image.  I suggest sponging everything before adding the dazzling Diamonds because I ended up getting the dazzling diamonds glitter on my Pool Party  ink pad.
That's it for today, come back and visit and I will show you a couple more of the cards we will be making. I hope you enjoyed, have a great day, til next time!

Stamping classes to begin soon

Welcome back friends,

Hope all is well. I took off the months of July and August from scheduling any stamping classes. I'm getting excited to start up again. I have a few ideas and creations going through my head. The hardest part about scheduling is when to do the classes. What day and times work best for everyone involved, including myself because I work different hours every week and no definite day off.  Bare with me I'm sure I can make something work out, in the mean time stay tuned for updates between now and next month. Thanks for stopping by. Til next time have a great day.

Some Inspiration finally.

Welcome back,

I did get a little inspiration finally from a fellow SC member, the card and the book mark were inspired by Jessica Urratia at www.rememberj.blogspot.com. Thank you for your sharing. I changed up the DSP and the colors and the embellishments and came up with these then I decided to make a couple of magnets to go along with it  and packaged them all into a gift set which I will be giving to my sister in law for her birthday. While I was making these I thought to myself that this would make a great class or stamp camp. I'm thinking maybe in September or even late August.
Stay tuned and I will have dates and directions to all these soon. Thanks for dropping by. Have an amazing day. Til next time.

When It Rains it Pours

Good Morning, welcome back,
Ever had one of those months that everything happens at once? whether good or bad? Yeah you know the ones I mean, that was us last month. Just has the heat was coming in our central air went, and if you know my husband and the boys and some of you do, that wasn't going to fly, not to mention we live in a mobile home and it does get very hot, kinda like the green house effect. I'm more tolerant of the heat than they.
We had some one come out to look at it and we decided we needed a new central air system, o.k. Then our toilet kept overflowing and being plugged, now we needed a plumber, the plumber and the Central air people came on the same day . The plumber mentioned to us that our  floor under the toilet was collapsing because of how many overflows we had. Because of that our hot water tank could have been in trouble so we had the floor done that same day as the plumber and the central air, so the carpenter came he works right in the mobile home park. They are all fixed and doing well (knock on wood). Yay! About a week after that we noticed we weren't getting any hot water, Now we bought out hot water tank only two years ago, someone came out to look at it which was 4 days later good thing it isn't winter, and thankfully we just need a part and not a whole new hot water tank. The part will be coming this week, in the mean time he was able to get the hot water to work, hopefully it will continue til Thurs. I truly hope we are done with all this now and things will continue to work and no more break downs. We have only lived here for two years.
I did make a name frame for my niece and her new husband who are getting married this weekend. I can't post it at the moment for she hasn't received it yet. I don't want to post it til after she sees it first. come back to visit to see it. Thanks for stopping by, til next time have a great day.

Baby Emma Name Frame

Welcome back to my family and creative corner blog. It's been a busy week. We have had carpenters, plumbers and central air people in. Just about everything has been done and is working well, ( knock on wood) yay! Still need to have some drawers in the kitchen to be fixed.
Today is one of my days off and with all that other stuff behind me I decided to craft.  Here is a frame that I made for my son's friend's and his girlfriend's baby girl who is due to arrive around
June 19th. I was procrastinating this because of the color combo. I really wanted to use the butterflies Dsp from the retired  paper pack called Party Patio, there fore the colors were not your traditional baby girl colors but I was able to use some pink pirouette which matched the prim rose petals color and blended with the midnight Muse. I love making these frames. I think the colors worked o.k  for a baby girl. Let me know what you think?

Here are the supplies I used for this frame.
Stamps: Alphabet Post, Distressed Dots B.G. stamp.
Inks: Primrose Petals
Card stock: WW 12 x 12 card stock, Party Patio DSP, primrose Petals.
Accessories: Big Shot, Beautiful wings sizlit , Basic Pearls, Pretty in Pink satin Ribbon, safety pin from Vintage Trinkets, 5/8 flower trim and colored them with Primrose Petals  and Pink Pirouette stampin write markers, Little Leaves sizlit.

O.k. I think that was every thing, thanks for stopping by come back in a couple of days and see my SAS samples for my next upcoming class in June. Have a great day. Til next time.

Mothers's day 2013

Welcome back,

Mother's Day came and went. I worked from 8:30 til about 4:00, not a very fun way to celebrate Mother's Day. When I got home this is what was waiting for me on the table. My husband bought me the flowers and my younger son handed me the white chocolate Lindts when he picked me up that day. It really perked up my day. Then we went to Kimball's in NH to get my favorite Sundae, Peanut Butter chocolate chip ice cream with  hot fudge and whip cream. It turned out to be a wonderful Mothers Day in the end.
Thanks Wayne and K.J.
Thanks for visiting, come back again. Til next time
Hugs everyone

New supplies

Welcome back friends

The man in brown visited my house yesterday and delivered some new catty goodies such as the new In Colors card stock, ink and refills, to name a few plus our new annual catalog. I want to play but I don't have any inspiration at the moment. I hate when that happens. I have the time and the supplies but no ideas or creativity. Ugh! What's a girl to do? I guess I'll just organize my stuff and maybe something will inspire me. Wish me luck. Thanks for stopping by today. Til next time, enjoy this beautiful day.

SAS left overs

Good Morning,
It's going to be a beautiful day, the sun is out and it's going to be warm. It's been a good week. I got to see my son and the drama club do a play called Honeymoon at Graveyard Manor.  They all did an amazing job. It was comical. Everyone can use a little comedy especially after all that's been going on in the world.

Still Playing Dress - Up

Good Morning,
I know what your thinking " still playing dress up"? at my age . Seriously I have been using the Dress up Framelits that SU has in it's Spring Catalog. There's still time if you would like to purchase these framelits . May 31st is the last day to purchase from the Spring catalog. There is also a stamp set and a card form to go with the framelits. Visit My Buissiness Web Site, posted on the right of this blog  if interested in purchasing these fun framelits. I still haven't figured out how to do a link . Sorry.
At first I wasn't into the whole dress thing and then I saw some really cute cards created with them and some amazing home decor frames which I still have yet to try here on the Stampin' Connection and Splitcoast stampers web site. I purchased the framelits and I have playing dress up ever since. Here are my cards.

I hope you enjoy them, I had fun making them. Thanks for stopping by til next time. have a great day.

Crafting Day

Today was such a cold and dreary day. I had today off so I decided to do some crafting. I was very productive. I got the Thank you card done for the SAS in June and I finally got the This And That Journal cover done. I also managed to get two pages in the This And That Journal focusing on the Hot dog boil we went to last weekend. My husband's niece and her husband make their own maple syrup and at the end of the maple syrup season they do this huge hot dog boil where they boil the hot dogs in the maple syrup. I was skeptical at first ,but it was sooooo yummy. Better with out the bun. They invite family and friends and serve hot dogs boiled in the syrup for a good part of the day and people come in and go ,. She had quite the spread, there was baked beans ,potato salad, macaroni salad, chips and many desserts as well. It was just a fun day with family and friends.

The top picture is my cover. I used the Epic Day DSP, the stickers that came with the bundle, I loved the simplicity of the this And That label that actually comes on the book and the color just happen to fit in.I used the Big Shot with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, the butterfly punch found in the 2012-2013 catalog, and some fun brads and ribbon  in Gumball green and summer starfruit and a retired color called groovy Gauva. I also used some primas that I had in my stash.
The second pic. was made with what the page had already had and some stickers from the bundle and of coarse picture of the machine that the hot dogs were being boiled in.
The last picture was the old machine that they started their business with.  After all the maple flavored hot dogs ,  they decided to make maple flavored snow cones with the clean snow from their yard. We didn't stay for that.
Drop by tomorrow and I will show you some more things that I created. It's getting late and I need to get some zzz's. I'm off tomorrow also,  so who knows what else I may create.Til next time. Feel free to leave a comment or ask a question.

Help! Which color combo do you like better?

Hello Blogger friends,
I recently got the Dress up framelits die, I decided to make a couple of cards with it. The bottom card I cased from someone but don't remember who or where, sorry. The top card is the same but I changed up the colors. I am planning on making one of these cards in my next class in May with my Clearly Contagious  group. I  haven't decided which color combo I like better. Girls from the group or any one? Let me know which one you would like to make or what color combo  you like better?
I also would love to make a frame with this set using all sorts of embellishments, fabric, ribbon  and such. I've seen many frames on the SU web sight and Split coast stampers.
Stay tuned for the scrap book page we will be making in that May class also. I almost have a couple  of pages finished in my Epic Day Journal done and the cover. I will be showing that soon too.
Thanks for stopping by, til next time.

New SU color Palette 2013

Hello Bloggers!

Remember when I mentioned that SU  is refreshing their color palette? Well here it is. The goodbye colors and the hello colors  I myself am pretty happy with the new colors, and very excited to see the brand new color Smokey Slate. A few people are disappointed in losing Bashful  Blue and Pretty In Pink especially for Baby cards, but I'm willing to give Marina Mist and pink pirouette a chance for baby girl and boy cards. What are your thoughts about the new color palette, love to know what you think of the new colors and which ones you are sad to see go?  Leave a comment. Will be back soon, thanks for dropping by til next time

This And That Epic day journal

Hello bloggers!

It's an exciting time for Stampin' Up! We are getting ready for the new catalog transition , a new color  refresh and a new product line.
This is the new This and That journal. It has 30 beautiful spreads that can be decorated to capture and document as  life  happens.  The chipboard cover is plain so that you can decorate it to your style and liking. Above are some of the pages inside. A couple of pages have envelopes so you can put a treasure from that special event or just some happenings of that particular day such as a play or concert or game. The designer series paper is called Epic day. I love this paper and colors, so refreshing. You can order this Epic Day journal as a bundle which includes the Epic Day DSP, the washi tape, the cute stickers and you get a rotator stamp that has dates, months holidays and I guess a few sayings not pictured here  for $32.08. order  #133350. Check back soon for more info on the new color refresh and hopefully I will have a couple of these pages decorated also I should include the pic. of the stamp. Thanks for stopping by. Til next time.
